Course Description:
This professional ethics course meets the four-hour NCBTMB requirement for certification renewal, which is also shared by many states. The content was designed for massage therapists at any level.
This course is a comprehensive overview of ethical legality and practice for bodyworkers in a professional setting. A foundation of state legal considerations regarding licensure and insurance will be set first. Federal acts and laws including ADA and HIPPA will be outlined next. The NCBTMB Code of Ethics will be covered and summarized in an interactive way. Strategies to minimize workplace risk will be shared while also considering ethical changes in practice related to a global pandemic. Effective techniques on psychology and communication are included throughout. Lastly, there will be a section on conflict management skills inspired by real life scenarios.
