Course Description:
Introduction to Oncology Massage Therapy is a 16-hour continuing education course designed to help licensed massage therapists safely adapt massage for clients affected by cancer.
Participants will learn:
- foundational Oncology concepts
- Common Cancer treatments and side effects
- Important contraindications and precautions
- Through lecture and hands on practice, therapists will develop skills to modify pressure, positioning, and techniques to provide safe, supportive, client centered care for individuals across the cancer continuum.
*Please bring your preferred massage cream or oil and sheet set.

About the Instructor:
Miranda Stone, LMT is a licensed massage therapist with four ears of professional experience specializing in oncology and chronic illness care. Her clinical work focuses on adapting massage therapy to safely support clients experiencing complex medical conditions, including those undergoing cancer treatment, recovering from medical procedures, or living with long term health challenges.
Miranda is dedicated to providing thoughtful, client centered care that prioritizes safety, communication and appropriate treatment modifications. Through her work, she has developed a strong interest in educating other massage therapists on how to confidently and responsibly work with medically complex populations.
As an NCBTMB Approved Provider, Miranda teaches continuing education courses designed to give therapists practical tools and foundational knowledge for safely integrating oncology informed massage techniques into their practice.
